CHAMBERSBURG, Pa –F&M Trust was recently recognized for its organizational commitment to health promotion.
The award, known as the Well Workplace Award, was issued by the Wellness Council of America – a national nonprofit organization that produces worksite health publications and conducts trainings that help companies create and sustain wellness programs.
As an award winner, F&M Trust demonstrated that its workplace is supportive of employees’ efforts to modify health risks and improve overall health and wellbeing.
“At F&M Trust, the wellbeing of our employees is one of our biggest priorities. This award provides independent acknowledgement of the progress we have made in strengthening our health and wellness efforts. Our company remains focused on achieving more milestones like this in the years to come,” said Tim Henry, president and CEO of F&M Trust.
The Well Workplace Awards are driven by a rigorous set of criteria, which include, among other benchmarks, an organization’s ability to successfully collect meaningful data to evolve a wellness strategy and the cultivation of healthy workplace environments, policies and practices.
The vision of protecting and enhancing the health and wellbeing of each and every employee has become part of the very fabric of F&M Trust.
“We are thrilled to have won the Well Workplace Award. Our employee wellness program has expanded significantly since its development in 2001. The main goal of our program is to encourage employees down the path to a healthier lifestyle,” said Teresa Kable, who heads up the F&M Trust wellness committee. Kable, the bank’s Human Resources Generalist, is also a certified wellness and health coach and a certified worksite wellness specialist.
Through the Employee Wellness Program, F&M Trust offers its employees free health evaluations which include on-site biometric screening and health risk assessments. Additional benefits include: a web portal with health-action campaigns and educational seminars, stress management classes, chair massages, on-site flu shots, health and wellness coaching and a tobacco cessation program – all at no cost to employees.
“We understand that having good health is one of the greatest gifts in life. This honor reflects our company-wide commitment to provide our employees with the tools they need to improve and maintain their health,” said Karen Carmack, Chief Human Resources Officer at F&M Trust.
